First United Methodist Church of McAllen
Project Description
D. Wilson Construction completed a 29,500-square-foot sanctuary building for FUMC, which includes an office suite, a Sunday school childcare area, choir space, and storage. The sanctuary features vaulted wood beams, ceiling cove lighting, and a 20-foot stained glass window depicting the tree of life. Instead of pews, 491 fixed theater seats were arranged in a fan around the wide chancel area, which accommodates a choir, altar, pulpit, instruments, and praise band. The chancel is separated by a demountable wood and steel communion rail.
